Steganography algorithm based on modified EMD-coded PU partition modes for HEVC videos

Abstract As High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) is a worldwide popular video coding standard, the steganography of HEVC videos has gained more and attention. Prediction unit (PU) one most important innovative modules HEVC; thus, PU partition mode-based becoming novel branch steganography. However, embedding capacity this kind limited by types modes. To solve problem, modified exploiting modification direction (EMD)-coded proposed in paper, which can hide secret digit (2 n + x − 1)-ary notational system pair modes thus enlarging capacity. Furthermore, two mapping patterns for are analyzed, that performs better selected as final pattern. Firstly, 8 × 8- 16 16-sized recorded according to optimal pattern encoding process. Then, using method satisfy requirement information. Finally, stego be obtained re-encoding with Experimental results show significantly enlarged, compared state-of-the-art work, much larger while keeping high visual quality.
